Growing Tips for Blackberry Pie

Blackberry Pie is an easy strain to grow, even if you haven’t ever grown your own cannabis before. The strain is relatively low maintenance and shouldn’t pose any issues as long as you follow a few simple rules. While Blackberry Pie marijuana plants thrive both indoors and outdoors. Most experienced cultivators maintain that the easiest place to cultivate this balanced hybrid strain is indoors because of the ability to control the environment. If you are going to grow indoors, you will need to replicate a warm, sunny environment to make this strain thrive, similar to the climate of the Mediterranean. Blackberry Pie performs best with ample fresh air and direct sunlight, as well as high-quality, nutrient-rich soil. If you are going to grow outdoors, you will need to maintain the ideal temperature and humidity to get these plants to harvest. Having access to a greenhouse is the best way to give these plants the premium outdoor climate they require without having to put up with outdoor variables. Because these plants grow medium to tall, they require a bit more space to grow to fruition. The ideal temperature for these plants is around 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit and slightly cooler at night. Humidity levels should be kept at 40-60% during the vegetative stage and slowly decreased into the flowering stage of growth. Low-stress training (LST), Screen of Green (ScrOG), and topping are the most beneficial techniques for this strain. These methods will adjust the plant height and canopy so that more sunlight and fresh air reach the lower levels of the plant. These methods will also reinforce the heaviest buds so that they don’t bend or break the branches of the plant. If used correctly, these methods will help increase yields at the end of your grow. Blackberry Pie requires an 18-20 hour light cycle to reach the vegetative stage of growth. Changing the light cycle to a 12-hour on and 12-hour off cycle will induce flowering and help get these plants to harvest.

Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest

• Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Blackberry Pie strain to harvest after a flowering period of 55-65 days.
• Yields: While Indoor yields are around 400 grams per square meter, outdoor grows typically produce up to 500 grams per plant. These yields are fantastic, especially when you consider how short the flowering time is and how easy these plants are to grow for beginners.
• Harvest: Outdoor growers can plan on harvesting their yields around the middle of October, depending on when the seeds were planted.

Blackberry Pie: Delicious Dessert Strain

The Blackberry Pie terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes, and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is caryophyllene, while myrcene, pinene, and limonene are the secondary terpenes.

• Caryophyllene: Most Dominant – Known as a spicy and peppery terpene, caryophyllene is most commonly found in cinnamon, cloves, black pepper, and cannabis plants.
• Myrcene: Secondary Terpene – The “Mother of all Terpenes”, myrcene gives cannabis its earthy flavor and aroma. Myrcene can be found in several cannabis strains.
• Pinene: Pine Needles – Pinene is a terpene found in pine needles, conifer trees, and cannabis. It is one of the main terpenes found in marijuana and adds a pine-like taste and aroma to the strain.
• Limonene: Fresh Citrus – Found mostly in the rinds of citrus fruits, limonene is known for helping to decrease anxiety and can improve lung function when found in cannabis.
